Naturopathic Education & TrainingDoctors of Naturopathic Medicine are educated at accredited four-year post-graduate naturopathic medical schools. Admissions requirements and course of study are similar to those of conventional medical schools and require a pre-med undergraduate degree. Naturopathic medical education is a four year post-graduate degree available at accredited schools in the United States and Canada. Dr. Doherty attended Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. New Hampshire is a licensed state and requires that each naturopathic doctor have passed the NPLEX board exams before a license is granted.
Clinical training, which begins the end of first year, occurs at naturopathic and community-based clinics under the direct supervision of licensed naturopaths. |
